What factors lead to extinction? How has European man altered the Australian environment?
We look at how mankind’s activities have helped some animals proliferate (eg. red kangaroo, galah) while others have declined. How has aboriginal man altered the Australian environment?
We look at animal extinctions before the colonisation of Australia by Europeans.

Students will have the opportunity to touch and hold these magnificent creatures.
How can animals be viewed as environmental indicators?
Habitat destruction: Felling of trees (hollow logs), destruction of rainforest, habitat isolation.
Feral peril: Look at the effects of rabbit, fox, feral pig, rat, cat and dingo introduction.
Hunting / poaching / trafficking,
Finally we look at ways in which we can make a positive impact on our environment by promoting public awareness through zoos and sanctuaries.
We review captive breeding and reintroduction programs of animals, protection of suitable habitat (eg. National Parks) and elimination of feral predators.

A maximum of 30 students are permitted in each lecture. Due to insurance reasons, Wild Action staff reserve the right to cancel the presentation if class sizes exceed this number. Prices for multiple lectures are based on lectures performed on the same day. Lectures run for one hour in duration
