Look out for our new beautiful baby tawny frogmouths in our Wildlife Work shops. Did you know that a tawny frogmouth is not an owl....but a nightjar! What's the difference? Owls actually catch their food with their sharp talons, whereas nightjars use their large gaping mouths to catch insects on the wing. It's kind of like a huge net for catching bugs!

These poor little guys were recently booted out of mum's pouch. Chris has had his hand's full wrangling two daughters, the Wild Action menagerie plus these two new fluffy bundles of joy!

On Friday the 20th of February, Chris Humfrey took some 'cute and furries' on 9am with David and Kim, Channel Ten. Chris had a chat about the extreme weather conditions drying out most of Southern Australia leaving many animals without food, water and shelter. As a result many more animals will be seeking out shelter, food and water in our suburban 'oasis' backyards. Chris joined the 9am hosts to explain what we can do to help. Directors/Owners of Wild Action, Chris and Nicole Humfrey have recently been inducted into Melbourne's Top 100 movers and shakers for 2008! Pity Chris didn't brush his hair for the photo shoot. We had plenty of interested onlookers, particularly with 'Jack' the crocodile sun baking on St. Kilda Beach. Don't worry everything was under control!

Don't believe everything you read in the paper! These are fresh water Eastern long neck turtles. Tortoise are terrestrial animals that live on the land. Tortoises do not naturally occur in Australia.

On Saturday the 1st of November, Wild Action Productions was presented the 2008 National Small Business award for 2008 in the Educational Services category. The event was held at Star City, Sydney. Director, Christoher Humfrey says," the award is a magnificent achievement for the Wild Action Team, and highlights to our customers our unparalleled dedication and commitment to quality environmental education. Who would have thought we would win two massive awards in the same year!".

Wild Action Directors Chris & Nicole Humfrey are congratulated for winning the Victorian Business of the Year award by CEO of Telstra, Mr Sol Trujillo, Deena Shiff Group Managing Director,Telstra Business Awards and Federal Minister for Small Business Hon Dr Craig Emerson MP.

To be awarded this award is one of our proudest achievements! To be awarded the 2008 MYOB Victorian small business of the year was unbelievable, however to 'take out' the over all prize of 2008 Telstra Victorian business of the year......well.....it seems quite surreal! Congratulations to all the Wild Action Team for all of your efforts over the past 14 years. This has been a fantastic achievement for not only Wild Action, but also all environmental education efforts across Victoria and Australia.

We have grown again! Welcome to Sarah Smith, the newest member of the Wild Action Team. Sarah has completed a Veterinary Science/BioScience degree at Latrobe University.

Chris and Nicole have been very busy over the past few months filming a pilot science documentary series. All going well.....it will be on air later in 2007. It's going to be exciting..........and something most animal 'buffs' won't expect!
