These amazing little parrots are quite commonly found around Melbourne. However you don't usually get to see them as they are extremely well camouflaged and fast flying. So...next time you walk under a flowering gum tree....take the time to look up...listen and look out for these beautiful birds. You'll hear them before you see them! |

| Wild Action has just visited Echuca and Northern Victoria! |
Why should all the city kids have all the fun? Wild Action has recently visited Echuca to teach children about the importance of biodiversity, and also gave them an 'up-close and personal' experience with many different Australian animals. |

Cold, miserable and a little skinny, Otto has now settled in with his new foster family. He is fed every four hours on a specially formulated marsupial milk Biolac M150. Otto weighed 590 grams when we found him, now he weighs 650 grams! |

Now......I didn't really say that! Dingoes are still classified as a vermin/pest species. It is against the law to introduce these animals back into the wild. Wild Action is dedicated to the preservation of pure dingoes in captivity, as wild dingoes are being hybridized with wild dogs. The Australian dingo will become extinct, if the wild populations are not monitored and managed by authorities. I regard the dingo as a naturalized species of wolf, and is an apex predator of Australia. The thylacine is now extinct......the dingo must fill it's place. |

These little guys recently starred in the Herald Sun newspaper. THEY say blondes have more fun, and Alby the albino tammar wallaby and Gremlin the yellow brush-tail possum make sure of it. The odd couple are the star attraction at the Wild Action Mobile Zoo, which is touring schools across Victoria. The rare pair have become friends after being bred in captivity by the zoo. Chris Humfrey, who runs the wildlife zoo, said the animals were freaks of nature not often seen in the wild. They are helping to educate children about our native creatures and living a pampered life while doing it. You'll see these guys in the Endangered species program for the next few months! |
